The Keeping Quilt written and illustrated by Patricia Polacco

If you haven't met Patricia Polacco through her children's stories, this is a great place to start.

The Keeping Quilt introduces you to Mrs. Polacco's Great-Grandmother who immigrated from Russia. Anna's mother and friends helped her to make a special quilt out of clothing that had belonged to Anna and some of her extended family. The story tells how the quilt became part of the pivotal moments in their family history--weddings, death, and births. The quilt survives generations and helps to turn the hearts of children to their predecessors.

This delightful story will not only teach you about Patricia, but it will teach you about Jewish traditions, early US immigrant life, and about tying families together.

Then you can go to mormon.org to find out how families can be sealed to one another for eternity! :)

Don't forget to check out more books by this marvelous author!

I like the "eternal families" part at the end of this post. :)
